The fine print, in plain words.
How booking, paying, changing and cancelling work — written to be read, not skimmed past. Questions? Ask us anything.
Draft for design preview. The policy text below is placeholder copy written in the intended tone. Final wording to be supplied and reviewed by Taprobane Traveler before launch.
01Booking & Confirmation
A journey is confirmed once you approve the final itinerary in writing and the deposit is received. Until then, quotations remain flexible and hotels are held only where availability allows.
On confirmation you receive a complete travel document: day-by-day itinerary, accommodation details, your chauffeur-guide's name and contact, and a 24-hour emergency line.
Round tours and tailor-made journeys are private departures — your dates, your vehicle, no strangers on the itinerary.
02Payments
A deposit secures your journey; the balance falls due before arrival, with exact timing stated on your quotation. Day tours may be settled in full at booking or, by arrangement, on the day.
We accept bank transfer and major cards. All prices are quoted per journey — never per seat — and include the services listed in your itinerary. There are no hidden extras: entrance fees, meals and activities are marked included or optional, line by line.
03Changes & Cancellations
Plans change — ours flex. Route adjustments before travel are made free of charge wherever suppliers allow; differences in cost are simply passed through at cost.
Cancellation charges follow a published scale based on notice given, reflecting only what suppliers withhold from us. Where a hotel or park refunds us, we refund you.
If we must alter a confirmed journey — weather, park closures, events beyond control — we propose the nearest equivalent first and a refund of the difference where none exists.
04On-Journey Matters
Your chauffeur-guide holds a national licence and drives a well-maintained, air-conditioned vehicle appropriate to your party size. Child seats are provided on request at no charge.
Daily driving is planned to stay comfortable — typically under four hours — and itineraries note honest travel times rather than optimistic ones.
Temple dress codes, park rules and local etiquette are briefed before each visit; your guide carries sarongs for the forgetful.
05Insurance & Health
Comprehensive travel insurance — covering medical care, cancellation and adventure activities you plan to enjoy — is a condition of travel with us. We're glad to review your policy's fit for the itinerary.
Tell your designer about mobility considerations, allergies and dietary needs at the planning stage; the island accommodates nearly everything when it knows in advance.
06Privacy & Your Data
We collect only what a journey needs — names, contact details, passport data where hotels require it — and share it solely with the suppliers serving your booking.
Your details are never sold or added to third-party lists. Marketing mail goes only to those who ask for it, and one click ends it.
07Responsible Travel
We keep wildlife encounters wild: licensed parks only, respectful distances, no elephant riding, no captive-animal photo stops — ever.
Journeys favour family-run stays, village kitchens and local guides, so that what you spend travels no further than the communities hosting you.
